Chesini has long kept the classic vibe. Add their taste for pantographed parts and chrome embellishments.

Yes I know we are talking about new but… without some paint scratches, a little rust and some dirt they just look like garage queens. Where is the history, soul, and the proof of usage that attracts me to C&V’s?

I definitely don’t need “proof of usage.” Same reason I don’t buy underwear with skid marks.

The point of a bicycle like these is the excitement of creating your own history with a new machine while supporting the continuity of the craft. If you want an old bike get an old bike. If you want a new bike and also like traditional steel frames then get one of these. Pretty simple.

Ciocc San Cristabol 77. They've got a couple of others as well, but a bit tough to decode their website.

So you wouldn't have been interested in any Italian racing bikes back when they were brand new in the '70's and '80's either, then.

yes the 70’s not so much the 80’s. My taste has changed with age. I appreciate the scars of experience much more now.

I would agree it is not the most flattering pic, especially alongside the others on this thread, but that is the picture from the Peugeot website, full size - https://cycles.peugeot.com/road/legend/lr01
