Then you pull the brake lever and the little screen only shows "connecting, please wait..."

Great idea. Complicate life a bit more with more tech. Don't address needs, just wants.

If a phone app is added it won't even be necessary to have levers

And what happens when the battery dies?

Was just about to post this. Knowing how people maintain their bikes and all, wireless braking is a bad idea just given human nature.

"Software update, please wait..."

Fail safe. Brakes just lock up.

I don't see what the big deal is, wireless braking has been around for ages...

Sure, sounds like a great idea. Make it a monthly subscription for the best braking with regular system updates. Do you want the best braking possible? That's a $5 per month subscription. You don't want to pay? No problem, you get the "adequate" performance, nothing more.

Now everyone can afford Super Record and Dura-Ace, even if only for the weekend.

...and 30 years from now, the F.C.C. and E.P.A. will finally admit that exposure to wireless transmissions at high intensity and/or long duration disrupt mitochondrial activity and cause cancer and are endocrine and neurological disruptors.
