Cinelli Genius

Found online in Italy and imported to UK for less than Ä300. I flipped the groupset and wheels so the frame stands me in about Ä35 now . Silver filet brazed with Columbus Genius , 2nd from top model in itís time , between the Nautilus and Super Corsa, i might re build with Dura ace 7700

What year is this frame? Dura Ace 7700 might just be period correct for it!
Anyways- a heck of a score on this beautiful frame.

I've got 7700 on my 1989 Cinelli. I wouldn't use anything else. The last classy Shimano road group.

I never saw a blue one of these. It's always red or white so it's interesting to see it in blue.is this a ear color with Cinelli framesets??
(Edit) I said "blue" but I guess it's actually purple?. There goes my color blind eyes again!

Are the decals polychromatic? Do they reflect the purple color in different light? Or is that just the way they're printed?

The Dura Ace 7700 was released in 1996, so it would be roughly contemporary with this frame, which would be >1995 but <2000, when threadless took over road bikes.

The flat paint finish is really ahead of its time. Nowadays it's popular across the bike world. But back in the 90's it must have been pretty unique!

itís soft touch paint , and was available in blue and red. The top of line Nautlius had orange soft touch paint . I have a Stratocaster mtb which was from
the same time with hard touch paint
