Don’t let that gem get mixed up in the next box ‘o crap for sale.

Banking on “yes”… congrats!

She may expect you to wear some proper trousers

All The Best !

...dream spouse would be one who wants the contents of the parts bin rather than the jewel box...

Congratulations! I hope you have a wonderful time being engaged, a fabulous wedding, and a long and happy marriage!

Steel Charlie 02-20-24 11:39 AM

Excellent !

It's well and good that she is humoring you with the bikes but you may want to take special care to insure that she knows that she's your No.1 hobby.

Just say'n

Bianchi84 02-20-24 11:50 AM

Congratulations! It's the beginning of a Great Adventure! Enjoy your life together!

bikingshearer 02-20-24 12:18 PM

And here I thought she had good judgment . . . . ;)
Many congratulations to you both. I look forward to congratulating the two of you in person at some point in the future. BF doesn't have a champagne glass-clinking emoji, so this one will have to do.

A local BF member has stopped by my house numerous times and has been shocked, SHOCKED!! that we might be both sitting at the kitchen island counter, her reading a book, me rebuilding some brakes.

Sure, I lay down a sheet. Clean up after. We cook there too!!

I've been told most spouses want the bike work done in a shop elsewhere.

Not to draw anyone's eyes from the leg action in pic 1, but.... (1) What on God's green Earth is that strapped to the beam rack, and (2) do you have an incentive now to synchronize the cranks?

it’s a champagne bucket. I’ll tell you, it’s a bad idea to ride with ice shloshing around.

the cranks are set this way to the captain can get them going.

Congratulations. Given that she stuck with you even after your horrendous tire choices on Cino, I think that means she'll stick with you through whatever obstacles the future holds for the two of you.

Congrats, I was blessed with a very long marriage, heartily confirm the "great adventure" part, Don

Rick_D 02-20-24 03:19 PM

Accessory ice bucket is the crowning touch. Campy?

And, congrats!

mhespenheide 02-20-24 03:40 PM

Congrats from a formerly active C&V poster

Congratulations to you both! Having a spouse that shares the love of cycling is a big time plus. May you both have many miles and years together !!!

After 47-1/2 years here, it’s still wonderful to wake up next to my wife👍, and her support of my riding and building bicycles makes it great.

Bill

Congrats and best wishes!
Amazing… when I first read this thread and looked at the parts bin, I never saw the ring 😮
My wife says I am the same way when I look in fridge and stuff is staring me in the face but I do not see.
