It's a shame we don't have vintage bicycle shows here, so much beautiful steel in PDX
There is a vintage show in Albany in May. Could be another small Bike Portland one again in the run up to MADE And it seems like we should be able to have a real one with MADE firing things up, maybe. |
Merziac frame #289 makes it late 48 or early 49 frame #300 tied to ride across states summer 49 documented in magazines

There is a seminar on Vintage bikes. All bikes represented, and I am certain Vintage will be among them. (I am bringing my 1972 Schwinn Superior for a group ride Sat AM. Represent!) |

True that, we have had plenty of them in the past and now we have MADE so things are looking up.

Oh well, gonna bring the PX-10 anyway. |

Something alongside MADE would certainly make sense. And thanks for the tip on the show in Albany, will definitely check that out!

Before pics, nothing too exciting but the pedals and the original chainring were pretty bad, they came out alright and didn't use the chainring yet.
The nasty rusty, spots on the frame just got grease rubbed into them as anything more invasive would corrupt the very fragile paint that is already in a poor state. There is no paint or further mitigation in store for this, it is what it is. :twitchy: https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...54a29c461f.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...6c6484e5f1.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...8aef09641e.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...b981a6f230.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...1138951804.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...f77d73801f.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...e5f133678e.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...0eb158fd9a.jpg |
