Rob,
Your smiling body can be corrected, but it will take a bit of work. An easier fix would be a body switch during the rebuild. If you decide to do the switch, I have a few bodies here that could used to bring yours back to regular shape. Smiles, MH

It is a 1972, and I could always use those….

The other link appears to have endured trauma also. Tough call, the decision I think is in the slop at the pivots now and after manipulation.

I think I just bent myself into a Sun Tour!
Yay!"

Given the usual mediocre performance of NR mechs, maybe it’ll work better with a bit of a bow.

With how much I hear about sheared binder bolts, cracked arm spiders (happened to me as well), and now these, I'm amazed anything Campagnolo survived long enough to be overpriced by the C&V masses today!

Yellow Jersey used to have a jar full of those Nuovo Record derailleur plates sitting on the counter. Not sure if they still do, that was years ago, and I haven't visited their "new" Arlington, WI storefront. Can't hurt to ask, though.

The late Frank Berto certainly agreed with you. As he put it in his "Sunset for Suntour" article/monograph: "Campagnolo's main advantage was the better bearings, which lasted longer. A Nuovo Record would shift poorly forever."
