Waterford Serial Numbers

I just picked up a Waterford RS-22. The serial number is A00017 which according to Waterford means it is made in Jan 2017. Correct? The seller said he had not ridden it in 20 years, but he may have cognitive issues. I also do not know if it is Reynolds 853 and/or True Temper OS or something else. Please help.

Yes, I read that. That's how I came up with the previous information where I said "The serial number is A00017 which according to Waterford means it is made in Jan 2017." My concern was, is this really true considering the person I bought it from claims they had it for 20 years, and really, it was covered in 20 years worth of dust. Here is a pic after half the dust blew off with it on the roof rack for the ride home.

According to this page on the Waterford site, the RS series was introduced around 1995, so I'd say 1997 is a pretty good guess for your bike. You sure what your reading as a 1 isn't a 9?

I must have missed the part where they did not make this series until 1995. Here is a photo of the serial number. It's pretty clear. Well, the seller has a Joe Biden like appearance. I suppose he just didn't know. Thank you. But do you know what it is made of? It's a 57cm so it's not my size. I need a 55cm. Sigh. I'll do a complete overhaul on it and sell it.

You can reach out to Richard on the website and he may respond.

So the seller looked like he had been President of the United States of America? :twitchy:

That lines up with this - https://bikeindex.org/bikes/66299 A 2000 RS-22 with a Serial number of F00098 which should be June 2000, 98th frame?
