Campy quick release bolt size/source

Since Campagnolo quick releases aren't cheap, I'd like to save this one.

Out for a ride and the bolt that secures the lever worked itself loose. Once loose it was too small to see where it had fell.
Does anyone know anything about this bolt? I tried pretty much every bolt I could find. I was thinking of trying one from a Suntour QR but those are getting rare as well.....

I can't be the first person to have lost one of these as a while back I got about five different types given to me with the same bolt missing.

Online I found this schematic. Missing bolt would be part 61/1

Nuovo Tipo QRs used a circlip when Record (old Record aka "NR era") QRs were threaded for a nut.

If your lever is threaded, then any M5 x .8 nut will work, doesn't have to be an acorn. Clean the threads well to get oil/grease off, and assemble with Loctite. Don't overtighten because it can bind up the action.

But I think SurferRosa is right, though the pic is out of focus, it looks like a Tipo not a Record.

Thank you all for the updates! I just assumed I'd lost a nut. I do appreciated knowing that for the threaded bolts a 5.0 x .8 is required as I have some QRs that need the bolts.

I'd never heard of the Nouvo Tipo and now I see a photo online that shows this exact same release.

Can anyone suggest why it keeps opening on it's own? Do circlips wear out and need to be replaced? With the Nouvo Record, there are supposed to be two washers (61/2) but an online article stated that sometimes a washer can be lost which would affect locking. Is there only one washer with the Nouvo Tipo

"Loosening on its own" shouldn't happen; it's an over-centre cam.

Check that the cam surface is not badly worn.
Check that the centre shaft with the through hole is correctly oriented; depending on the skewer it can make a difference.
Check that it's good-and-tight tight when you close it.

On Rare occasion the cam can wear and or the thru axle transverse bore can elongate.
rotate the shaft in the chrome end 180 degrees, test assemble with some anti-seize even.

in my years at the bike shop only once were new parts called for. A QR loosening on its own is dangerous.

i will ask that the skewer was not just wound to tighten and the over center cam was utilized.
that I have seen just would tight much more often.
