GT Edge

Wondering if anyone has ever seen a review of the GT Edge made with Reynolds 853 ? Seems to be some about the Ti and aluminum versions but not the 853.
TIA
Charlie
edit: and where that might be found if possible :thumb:

I decided to buy it anyway. It'll be a few days before I get to see it live. I'm hoping that it survives the shipping and surprises with condition. Be a pleasant change of pace.

Hope springs eternal.

These had really nice welds finish work and great geometry so I think you well be pleased big plus if it still has the matching size correct stem,

The GT Edge in Reynolds 853 was fillet brazed and was a limited edition and it was at the base as far as I recall equipped with Dura Ace. The frame geometry was on the agressive end but it was a very comfy and fast ride a link about it 1997/1998 GT Team Saturn Roadbike

I saw this GT Course bike on Facebook marketplace:

This one is also 853 tubing, but TIG welded. Seems like GT made an interesting foray into road bikes!

They did and they also produced the frame in titanium and easton aluminium , some pro teams like Saturn and Lotto achieved successes with GT roadbikes. A friend of mine who was racing back in the day on road bike racing competition also used his in triathlons. He still has his bike but in V4 with Dura Ace 7900 and zipp 808, a real blast

Oh I can’t pass up another opportunity to post a pic of my Ex Saturn Team bike.
Probably the one bike I most regret selling.

That yellow works and looks dyno but I think the Fulcrum wheels I want to put on it will force me to red. The currently black fork will definitely be something else as well. I may explore fork options. Depends.

Perfect combinaison of Shimano Dura Ace 7700 and Mavic Cosmic Carbone Pro . That thing was fast, comfy and light. A collector friend of mine said to me one thing "When you have a rare and collectible frame,or bike you never sell it" That is indeed true.

Gt Edge 853 cyclcross bike I rode for many-many years. Sold it because it was always too small for me and I've been searching for a taller example ever since.
