The dive that was the Horse-Cow (right next to I-80 in Vallejo) is now called “Gentleman Jim’s.” Never been in it - heck, I’ve never done than zoom by at 65mph - so I have no clue what the insides are or were like. But according to the book “Blindman’s Bluff,” it used to be the favored watering hole for Hyman Rickover’s boys when in port at Mare Island.

Meh. Chainring bolts are highly over-rated.
Just ask Choke.

Heh. At my first Cino, I arrived in Hot Springs with 3 missing chainring bolts and the other 2 were quite loose.

Many thanks to davester for hosting us at the end of the ride, a beer while recovering from the climb up Wildcat Canyon road.

Exactly what we wished for.

As well, he guided us to the secret side trail along SPD road! :thumb:

Clearly a card-carrying minimalist.

Indeed, Gugie's loaded bike was heavier than mine by a fair bit. Why he needed all those brazing tools and files is beyond me... I only used one tube patch and my 5/6mm Allen Combo from RBW

Just a big bag of bolts in my kit. I’m never sure which threaded device you’re going to snap off mid-tour.

Well done lads and thanks for the updates! I’m glad you stayed dry, or am I? Does that mean rain in April? I will not forget that smashburger pic!
