Stronglight BB cups interchangability

A question for the local experts: were the cups used on the 1950s era Stronglight cottered bottom brackets the same as those used on the stronglight non-cottered bottom brackets? That is, could the cups from the "competition" bottom bracket be used with a "model 34" axle?

I ask because I would like to use a Stronglight model 34 bottom bracket in a frame with BSC threaded bottom bracket, but cannot find BSC cups sold with a cottered axle. However, they are common with the square taper, non-cottered axle. If they are interchangable, I can mix and match.

Thank!!!

i mix and match old style BB cups and BB spindles quite often... i'm not remembering any that wouldn't mix.

what you want to do is confirm that the bearing track is more or less in the center of the races

you can paint the spindle and cup with a sharpie, test assemble, and see

juvela has helpfully posted the diagrams, and I agree, probably will be fine.

mix and match of spindle, cups etc is a trickier call
