Foot surgery number three for Morton's neuroma this winter. My spouse is spouting the love for Bombas socks. Anyone use them and notice any difference? Most cycling socks are too thin for me, and regular socks a bit thick. Interesting that Bombas has a left and right fitted sock

I'm a big fan of the socks manufactured and sold by the Darn Tough folks.

What I've bought of theirs through REI Sports have lasted far longer than any of the other brands of socks I've ever owned and worn. Those I buy are all wool, padded and meant for hiking while wearing boots yet I can wear them year 'round with no discomfort in the heat and humidity of the central Midwest. I can even wear 'em with my biking shoes with no problems!

Darn Tough looks good. I got a wicked blister walking in Japan last year with Gold Toe socks. I usually find something that works then get five pair that last me years.

All my life (including the army days) I've struggled with blisters and hot spots on the balls of my feet. As I've been recovering and not riding I've been doing a bunch of walking and hiking in the mountains. I tried the Injinji sock liners on a whim and they have been a total game changer. For most walks I wear them with a thin cycling sock over top and no blisters or hot spots or any kind of issues.

Darn Tough are great, use them for hiking/snowboarding. Have been looking at getting a lightweight pair for cycling

Darn tough is my go to. Wonderful products, wonderful warranty, and quite the variety. I wear wool year round with various thickness and DT are my faves. I use them for my good year welted footwear, sneakers, and all my athletic activities. I wear mine in a rotation and they last me many years with following the suggested cleaning method. If they need replacement, I send them in and DT ships me a replacement pair. I've only had to twice in almost a decade of use.

Keep an eye out for sales. Gobros (no affiliation, but have purchased from them numerous times) usually has them on sale and currently has them 25% off. Over the last 6 or so years, I have replaced almost all my socks with wool blend and will never go back.

Massive fan of Bombas here. Now I use them for everyday wear, hiking, office, cycling, soccer, etc. They feel great in any weather, warm enough in mild winter, but cool and comfy in the hot summers. For cycling, I like their quarter-calf best. (I find ankle socks too short)

Darn tough is another great choice, but I reserve them for the winter time as my feet get too hot otherwise.

I have neuromas as well. One was surgically removed and the surgeon had a helluva time digging it out. As painful as the neuroma was, recovery was worse. Never again. Anyway, I have found some things that help manage neuromas but, for me, socks was not one of them. Never tried Bombas, but maybe I will after reading the above posts. I like DeFeet. Super comfortable and great quality. Best of luck with your feet.

I just visited Bombas website and like Darn Tough, they appear to offer a lifetime warranty. This is a great benefit.

However, most Bombas socks do not use wool and do use cotton, albeit at about 15%, in sock construction. Darn Tough only uses Merino wool, Nylon, and Lycra Spandex. Cotton doesn't wick moisture away very well.

I also searched the Bombas website about where the socks are made and could not find specific information. This website says their socks are made in Peru, Tawain, and China. Darn Tough socks are all made in Vermont. Yes, Darn Toughs are expensive at over $20 per pair, but they absolutely will replace your socks when they wear out.

I do wear my Darn Tough socks year-round--- even in the summer here on the subtropical coast of Georgia. The wicking cools my feet in the summer.

I've been using Smartwool and Point 6. Point 6 is the people who originally started Smartwool.

I can do wool or synthetics. I have mild eczema and synthetics actually seem a bit easier on the skin. Many decades ago I went to the Pendleton seconds store in Camas WA. I got some gabardine wool slacks, lightweight. They wore like iron, comfortable winter and summer. The military used gabardine for years, now its unobtainium in basic clothes lines.

Darn Tough is my go to for ski socks......didn't even think of checking them out for bike sox

I prefer the DT running socks with cushions as my cycle socks.

I'm a DT volunteer evaluator. They send me a survey or a questionnaire once a month. Recently one was about doing collaboration with other companies and I encourage them to do one with Brooks. I think it would be a fun one.

Even after several wears and washes, they are still very soft and supportive (ie no sag).

I've been looking at Bombas for over a year and finally bought two pair, more fashion for a new pair of dress shoes but I'll probably buy some heavier socks for work. They seem much better than the Dickies I bought a few months ago
