Centre Pull Brake Rim Compatibility?

I’m in the territory of 47-57mm drop (recessed) brakes. Currently run Shimano BR-R451 and while I could move to Tektro for a retro look I wanted to try Centre Pull. I wanted to check first whether options work with a narrow rim (20mm outer), given the wide clearance some offer for Fenders?

Mafac racers were the go to brake for all sorts of bikes…problem might be finding recessed versions…?

The newer version of the Gran Compe brakes are recessed...

I've been using Mafac Racers on skinny rims (sewups for 25 years, with Velocity Aeros and Mavic Open Sports now). My brake of choice for all-weather city bikes. Adapting to recessed is easy. All you need is a metal sleeve of sufficient length. An easy and cheap one is simply a few valve stem nuts; those knurled ones that many of us take off new inner tubes and place in a jar. Same threads as a brake bolt but you don't want the threads. Drill 'em out. Now you have washers that stack nicely to be that spacer.

The Paul's brakes are the same brake only CNC'd, sexy and expensive.

I also like Mafacs.
For a recessed setup, you just need different (shorter) mounting bolts. You should be able to modify the mafac bolts, or find replacements.

Recently rescued an ole ChroMo Japanese Beater Tekara with Center Pulls with full intention of switching it to calipers. Those ole Dia-Compe center pulls were so strong when I got them freed up I just left them on...
