Name That Campy!

So, as I was looking at the build on the Unknown Road Bike, to figure out what my gearing options are without changing expensive parts, I noticed that the front derailleur was a bit weird. It's a Campy, but I'm not sure what kind:

I'm thinking maybe Victory or Triomphe?

That’s a 980

‘Nuff said.

I had totally and completely forgotten the 980 group. I will now commence to internetting myself into a coma.

And, what the hell... even if it totally sucks, which my very limited memory of 980 suggests that it might, it's a front derailleur on a double. Its job isn't hard.

980/990 does the job, but no bling.

Not for a bike looking for a new owner. Let them have a sense of involvement......

When I was a frugal college student I purchased a 980 rear mech' ( with the black pivots even) to build up a frame I owned, gave admirable service. I still have it. I would probably have kept it on the bike but I wanted chrome pivots. Aesthetics you know.
