Nitto Stem Model?
Does anyone know what model stem this is? Stamped on the quill next to the max height line is:
22.2 (0.875) NITTO • JAPAN U.0 I think it is "U.0" because the "O" in "NITTO" doesn't match, however I found a similar looking stem on ebay that was clearly stamped "U.Q" so maybe it is an "O"? I included below a photo of the front of the stem in case the shape is a cue. Thank you for taking the time to read this! Looks like the Dynamic to me. I believe it is based on the Specialized S-2 stem design.

I've got one that appears identical on my big red British bike...

However, I'm pretty sure that I got it from Rivendell, back in the day. This is from the 1996 Rivendell catalog. The Nitto Aero... https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...d1c94045d9.jpg Presumably "Aero" is Nitto's terminology for the model, and not just Grant's. Steve in Peoria |
Interesting ad copy there, Grant preferring cones to wedges for quill stems. I thought wedges are safer? Is this a weight weenie thing to go along with the alumnum wedge?

A shot from the top would help as the Dynamic widens before it gets to the clamp.
