Help Identifying This Headbadge
A friend turned up a bike he can’t identify- He had a photo of the headbadge on his phone, which I photographed (attached below). I can’t make out the rider’s signature but I’m guessing this is an easy one for some of you folks.
Thanks much! Joe https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...c77b1ba00.jpeg |

Looks like Classic Rendezvous/Guy Apple would appreciate a pic of your friends bike if they are willing to share - https://classicrendezvous.com/countr...ly/girardengo/ "Do you have pictures of a pre-1983 original paint & decal Girardengo bike that we could use to illustrate this brand?"

Does it have a similar badge on the seat tube?
(This detail implies some other interesting details...) |

He says that yes, it’s also on the seat tube. What does that tell us, Oneclick?
From what I've read/remembered, Girardengo had work outsourced to a prison in Alessandria, including the time when such frames (two badges) were made; which said reading/memory claims was 1962-64. But as well, can you find out the frame angles? I have one and the seat tube is 75.<something> and the headtube is 71.<something>, a curious combination as each is somewhat extreme on opposite ends of the scale. |
