Help! Id on old Raleigh
 

I got my hand on a vintage racer a couple of years ago. It had a layer of white paint over it. I believe the original color was silver. I have not been able to find the exact model.
Hopefully the pictures will tell you more. I believe the frame number is NG0010178. 2x6 gearing, 700cc wheels. The pump is not original. Even the smallest help is appreciated.

It's from 1980, Built in Nottingham, vice Worksop. I think it's either a Touring 14, or a Record. Do you know what size seat post it takes? Rear spacing might also be instructive, but that could have been changed.

edit - from the dropouts and the seat stay treatment, I think it's likely NOT a Record.

Looking closer, and accounting for your report that it might have been silver originally, I'd consider the Reliant to be a possibility.

Many thanks for replying. I have looked thru the catalog you sent and with the extended knowledge I have of the frame, I have a hard time seeing how it could be either a Touring 14 or a Reliant. The touring 14 has other breaks, and the Reliant seems to have come with Sun Tour gearing. Or am i seeing thing wrong. The brakes I took off were classic C clamps.
What has been throwing me off is the fact that the pump is mounted horizontally. Have not seen it in on any models.
For your earlier question It takes a 250 mm seat post.

To the OP: where are you located? This may make a difference regarding how a bicycle was delivered, as they are spec'ed differently in different countries.

I am located in sweden and found the bike here.

Observing the braze on pump pegs under the top tube, and zero water bottle braze ons, probably not a USA spec. bike.

25.4 post points to a hi-ten/gas pipe frame.

Sometimes bikes go forever without changes or upgrades. Sometimes they got modified before they even reached the customer, or by the customer at some later point. They are far less reliable than features of the frame for identification. I am most familiar with what is in the catalogues intended for the US market. Hopefully you can find your ID here, BUT... I also belong to several FB groups about vintage Raleighs, and there are still plenty of folks who worked in those factories, or who watched what came out of them very closely in some of those groups. That is another avenue to consider.
