I get a Gulf livery vibe from it. I dig it.

You make it look so easy :-)

Beautiful result. Really ... just beautiful.

Most excellent. Thanks for sharing!

I particularly appreciate that you kept with a quill stem.

seagrade 01-08-26 08:31 PM

Outstanding classic. Looks great.

Hot rod. Very nice build, the red ribbon tape is a nice touch.

Great looking build!!!

Saw this on Two Hubs

I had Charie put it together because I didn't want to deal with fishing the wires.

I've seen operating rooms that were less sanitary.

One of the few vintage steel frames that looks right with new parts... the tubes are just fat enough to stay proportional. Traditional tubes get overwhelmed by modern cranksets and wheels, to my eyes.

C’est magnifique!

mackgoo 01-09-26 10:37 AM

I sent this to Alberto yesterday with a picture, Buon pomeriggio, signor Masi. Spero che sia di suo gradimento.

His response, Si grazie bella e buon Anno!!!!

mackgoo 01-09-26 10:54 AM

By the way. Jim Allen did the paint and frame modifications for the EPS. Everything was perfect.

icemilkcoffee 01-09-26 11:48 AM

Ha! I totally missed the fact that it's been converted to electronic shifting. Can you show pictures of the holes created for the wiring?

non-fixie 01-09-26 12:08 PM

Nicely balanced design. Well done!

That is most excellent indeed and looks like very fine work. A Ron Cooper I acquired needed a fork built, and a repaint so I took the opportunity to go a step further and chose a colour far from original. This original-styled repaint with modifications for EPS is a few steps further but what a great way to help keep these fine classics on the road and in regular usage. Not that c. 1980s Nuovo/Super/C-Record is now unrideable, but I reckon this is an excellent modernisation.

billytwosheds 01-09-26 04:53 PM

Fantastic.

Is that a black anodized C-record seat post?

mackgoo 01-09-26 11:23 PM

Cerakote

I think the guys at Ben's Bikes had an NIB Century-finish C-Record seatpost up on the site.

For over a grand.

It Just may. I have 28's on it now and there's some more room. 28's fine for me.

I agree! I usually don't like modern components on classics, but this looks just right. Absolute perfection!

Incredible job, was it worth it? How’s it ride?
