A friend asked if this was real Cinelli
https://ebay.us/m/Ie6X42
let’s name the signs I’ll start, says it’s a 50s -60s yet has a modern decal https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...4ceed96f9.jpeg |
Smile and wave.

Depends on what you mean by "real."
I think it probably exists in the material dimension and wasn't hallucinated by AI. |

"As far as i’m aware it is.."
... enough of a hedge to claim anything. :thumb: |
Throw it in the pool and see if it sinks or floats.

Rapid-taper chainstays, which AFAIK were Reynolds only, so maybe English? Could be French too, the threading and tube diameters would tell the tale.
Cinelli is the one brand we know for sure it isn't. I wonder if brazing only one side of the chainstay bridge was done for a reason? Verically compliant, laterally stiff? ;) |

from the bayer's description
"As far as i’m aware it is Cinelli was known to use Nervex lugs and Catalina drop outs as well as the italian threads would date it around late 50s to mid 60s" You can see the NERVEX stamp on the BB |

Too bad it doesn't have the original bars and stem. If they were Nitto that would definitely peg it as a 50s Cinelli.
