Vintage shoes

Looking for some vintage shoes for my agonistic bike. I'm hoping for some Detta Pietros, but I'll take what I can get. Need to be the old lace-up perforated leather ones for toeclips. Size 48. 47 or 49 is acceptable. Nail-on cleats preferred.
Anyone know where I can find these suckers? I've been googling, but without much success. Anyone still making these, or perhaps do them on a custom basis?

Thanks!
Cole

Yeah baby! My favorites.... See the first post in "catch of the day". They do turn up on eBay from time to time; a seller had at least a dozen NOS pair about 3 years ago... You might ask BC at Renaissance Cycles. He may have some...

Hey; I just remembered wher I recently spotted some vintage Detto-like leather shoes... Europa Cycle in Van Nuys, CA. They're nice perforated leather tops with hard plastic soles, nutted for old style cleats. They wanted about $20 per pair, NIB. They had a few sizes left under the shoe counter, in dusty, tattered boxes... You might want to give them a call... 818.785.6112 Tell 'em that a friend says they're $20 per pair, or they'll jack the price...

Can't help you about where to find them but some brands:

1- Duegi
2- Sidi
3- Lambert (?)

Didn't Cinelli make or sell shoes also?

Awesome! Thanks guys! OtherGuy, I gave that shop a call, but nobody picked up. I'll try again soon.
yuyax: thanks for the other brands. I'll be doing some googling!

Take care,
Cole

You might give a ring to Comic Wheel - used to be Park Cycles, the Frayesse's shop in ParkRidge NJ. If they don;t have any, they might know where in the NYC area (which should have some under someone's counter)

Also try Kopp's Cyclery in Princeton NJ

There were a bunch of shops in NYC(manhattan and boroughs) that were around for ages, but itz been so long since I've been there, I wouldn't know which ones still exist.
Maybe a New Yawka can post info on any of the older shops.

I'd expect most of the eastern big Metro areas, expecially DC, to have some older shops still around.

Gotta still be some NOS Dettos around. Was just tawkin with another old guy on Sturdy about shoes, and the old Duegis that had the wood sole. How much they hurt and the numerous bone spurs they created
Gawd, they were freekin awful for any comfort.

If I recall correctly, I saw some vintage Duegis on Ebay last week. Laces, leather, metal cleats, etc.

Just in case, do an Ebay search for 'Completed Items'. You might find some unsold shoes, email the guy and see what happens.

Good luck.

Don't forget Gaerne's and Vittorias

My favourites were the old Vittoria shoes, the leather was like butter.
