Options for 5-speed derailleur pulleys
Hi All,
Coming here for a little advice. I need a replacement for my rear derailleur pulleys. It's a 5-speed Nuovo Record derailleur. The original pulleys were cracked and I replaced with a set of Shimano pulleys that I bought from a LBS. But the lower pulley wore down in only a year. I wanted to check here to see if there are any other better options for a Nuovo Record derailleur. I'm not sure what pulleys will fit the shaft and still shift properly.
Take Care,
Paul

I'd go back to the LBS. You're running old equipment, parts might be hard to find.
My old 5 speed is still running, so thankfully, I haven't had to find replacement parts.
Pulleys are cheap, only a couple of bucks for the 9 speed ones I bought 2 years ago.

Oh, and don't forget to use medium thread locker when you replace them.
Guess how I learned that......suckers really fly far.

I went to my LBS where he carries a lot of used vintage parts. Ended up looking through all of his old Suntour derailleurs and found a set of used/new sealed bearing pulleys. Cost $10. Maybe you can do the same.

Look around for some of the old Bullseye sealed bearing pulleys, or have a look here:
