What? passed TWO identical orange Schwinn road bikes on my commute

hey, this is silly thread, but I just had to drop it in...

I was doing my usual morning commute, coming to the end of Madison's SW Commuter trail, when I zipped past a nice looking orange vintage schwinn road bike... did not catch the model, but it looked nice -- maybe a fixie convert. As I was taking a quick trip down memory lane, about 30 seconds later, ANOTHER ORANGE SCHWINN ROAD BIKE passes me going the same direction... same distinctive nameplate, down bars... some sort of road Schwinn. Too weird. I almost turned around to follow these guys to see if they were together.
The only reference to orange painted Schwinn road bikes (there are lots of Stingrays of that ilk) was to a Schwinn Superior or Paramount from the late 70's.

Unusual sun spot activity is causing long dead Schwinns to re-animate.

Soon old Schwinns will rule the earth. Run for your life!

I don't mean to undermine your intelligence , but is it possible that these were indeed the same person on the same bike? Seems possible when you read your story a few times...

I did have a few beers over the weekend, but I'm up to snuff now
That's the way it went down...
The path is a straight line, actually old railroad bed, no cross paths
it'd be impossible for the same guy to double back and come at me again
he would have had to pass me then turned around within 30 seconds

I rekoned they might be letours

I ride that path and have a '77 Schwinn Volare in Pearlescent Orange and a Schwinn imported World Voyageur in orange, but it wasn't me. I have to ride several miles of scary country road to get to the bike path and it is now too dark in the morning for me to bike commute. It's not worth the risk of getting bumped off by the sleepy morning drivers who are paying more attention to dialing their cell phones than looking for cyclists on the side of the road. The drought made it a wonderful summer for bike commuting though. I rode all but a few days since Spring.
