Masi 3v russian?

I was told by the estate today that other frame Don had and never built (so its as new as day one)

Is red says Masn cccp on it. I havnt seen it but with the very limited knowledge I have on Masi bikes this sounds like the fairly rare "russian" model.

1) how do it certify this is a real "russian" (assuming they ver let me get my hands on it

2)whats one of those worth aprox

3)anyone here want it if/when it should become avialible?

Do a search on "russian Masi" in the CR list archives.
http://search.bikelist.org/
this is a topic that comes up at least every 2 years
when one of these surfaces.
They were if I recall a commemerative frame, and not
built for the russian olympic team as sometimes mentioned.
I also seem to recall they are 3v frames similiar to the one
you recently sold.
I won't venture a guess as to price, I guess it's worth
whatever ebay offers.

Soviet Masi's, to commerate the Russian team buying a set for their use. I think 200 or so in all, value is as with most size, dependent, and to left wingers perhaps. Built in the USA. Perhaps worth more if one has watched the Hunt for Red October recently.

There was one NOS example on ebay, buy it now for $1850. or so that sat unsold, for a frame & fork so that is perhaps too much

There is a guy selling the decal set for the russian masi's on eBay intermittently. So, I suspect, it would be pretty easy to turn a 3V into a Russian 3V...

It would be hard to fake as there were a very
limited number of them made. I think Jim Allen
(?) knows the serial numbers (or has them).
There were tons of posts on CR about these
frames, as I said comes up every year or so.
