Is that a Brooks or a Wrights? Looks sort of like the latter to me.

Well I work from home so unfortunately I don't get to commute. This means usually when I go out, the bike is never locked up very far away from me or for very long. I did have a cable lock on another brooks bike I have with a quick release, but I think most people where I live don't think my bikes are worth stealing cause they don't know any better.

We have 3 vintage MTBS (all specialized MTBs) in my family so everyone gets one; two of the three were CL finds. The 1988 specialized stumpjumper comp is my commuter; the 1991 team stumpjumper is now my wife's town bike (I rode it offroad for many years before it found a 2d life as a town bike); and an early 1990s specialized hard rock sport that my daughter rides everywhere:

I have a question about Gary Fishers? Was there a a time when the logo only had the upper half? Only the mountains and not the "reflection" underneath? I remember a friend of mine having one, and I swear it only had the top side of the logo?,,,,BD

Anybody see this 88 Cimmaron go for 400+ on ebay?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/280915804750

Are we witnessing a resurgence in the value of vintage mtbs?

I put that one on my watch list early on as a potential part out bike and was shocked at how high it went. Probably just an outlier.

Yes.
.
When we were teenagers, me and a buddy used to dumpster dive Gary's shop/corporate office in San Rafael. We got a bunch of those decals, plus half used team tires and so on. We we sooo bad.

I just started cleaning off my 1987 KHS Montana Team last weekend. I'm the original owner, and it's been in indoor storage for 10 or 15 years now. It was as rare as Hens' Teeth when it was new (the Montana Pro with XT and Tange sold pretty well in our shop - this was the only Montana Team I ever saw back then,) and so it could very well be a unique survivor now. Here's a bad photo of the whole shebang:

This comes with a nearly complete Suntour XC9000 group, complete with a rollercam brake on the rear chainstays, Suguino's BioPace knockoffs, and cartridge bearings on practically everything, including the pedals. The frame is made with Columbus Offroad tubing.

New tires, cables, braking components, and other goodies are on their way so the ol' girl can start bombing the trails again.

I have a whole Picasa Web Album online if you want to look at the components close up.

As she gets cleaned up better and brought up to speed, I'll post some new photos.

Thought someone might find it interesting.

Not quite the Mongoose Ti you had in mind perhaps but still a nice bike. Bought this frame (hardly used) recently and was told it was a Mongoose Pro from around 2000. Built it up with mostly stuff I had lying around. Rides well, meant to be a fast gravelgrinder that can handle a bit of rocks and light singletrack as well.

I was referencing the titanium bianchi hardtail that was used by martini racing. (the add is for the FS model)

Nice bike though.

My 1988 Japanese Condor? Full Prestige that I bought new in Germany while there with the Air Force. I love the lively reponsive feel of Prestige frames. I still ride it often, however am really not certain what Company built it or where it was built but it's a great bike!

I finally got a pic of my 1986 Schwinn Mirada Mixte. It's a bit small, but mixte MTBs almost never show up, and it is still a blast to ride.
