Much like a modern slant parallelogram rear derailleur.
Those were high end forks back in the early 90's. My buddy has one on his very nice Marin Team XT... Love that Suntour XC Pro stuff BTW!!! |

Heres a picture of that Mongoose I picked up, the spokes aint replaced but the rest of the bike is cleaned. also have to attach rear brake cable.
Only had a set of white walls left so I threw em on. lol http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...u/100_2156.jpg |
So Curbtender, did you buy that bike?
That was orignally a Manitou design. They got very good reviews back in the day. I'd love to find one myself! |
Picked this one up a few weeks ago from the thrift store - its in like new condition. Pics arent so great; the sun was bright, the bike just sparkles, and that makes for a difficult photo (for me, anyway)....

Funny thing - I worked at Fishers Cyclery from 94 - 97 so this may have been sold when I worked there..... And I only paid 15 dollars for it, as you see it now. No improvements, no changes, just a clean and quick tune. |

Here's my 1991 GT Avalanche Team. Tange Prestige Concept frame with full XT group. It even has the original Ritchey Megabite 2.0 Kevlar tires and A'ME grips. It's a recent ebay pick-up--I'm happy with how it cleaned up.

I am always looking for a reason to post my newest bike. 1993 MB-2.

My gt too! I think it's an older Gt, I have no clue.

Thoso LTS's are mid 90's. I think they replaced the LTS with the I-Drive, which they are still running. My buddy has an LTS-1 with 8 speed XT/XTR, really nice bike. Rides super plush.
Epicurean, Don't you love those GT flip flop stems and adjustable rake forks? Nice bike, BTW! |

My wife's "new" 1992 Diamond Back Ascent EX. Bought it NIB on eBay to match the NIB one I bought for myself earlier this year. Deore LX group w/ Diacompe brakes and levers. Took it on its first ride this morning and, after a few minor adjustments to get the fit right, she really likes it. The 18" frame fits her perfectly (she's 5' 9") and she adapted to the thumb shifters easily (she's used to the brifters on her road bike). And to keep the set together, here is mine: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4059/...8e5b9f6541.jpg Mine is a 20" frame but other than that, and a couple of different accessories, they are identical. The pics don't do justice to the metalic purple paint job. These beat the heck out of anything I've seen in a bike store lately (especially at the price we got them for). |

This is my Trek 850, i've had it since new, I got it as a birthday present from my wife when we were first dating back in 1995. It's been kept indoors since new. Only the tires have been changed, I installed continental town and country tires. You can find me most every weekend riding thru Coral Gables, morning rides are nice and cool with hardly any traffic. :thumb: Mike |

Picked up this 1991 Diamond Back Topanga this week for my older son. He has been using a later model Diamondback that is really heavy as well as being too big for him. Working to get it cleaned up and ready to go for this weekend when he comes home from college for the summer. |
The Mt Hood, after a slight cleaning, and some more fitting tires. I wish knobby skinwalls were still available
new, these are off an old Deore DX equipped Yokota.,,,,BD http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...ROSSmthood.jpg |

My latest build: This one was found at the dump, minus wheels, and is being built for a co-worker of mine. A late-80's (I believe) Diamondback Ascent EX. Did this one with road tyres because the upcoming owner was just looking for something to ride through the neighborhood in the evenings. Managed to keep the parts costs low enough so that I'm looking at a 100% markup for retail - which, if I can't do, I don't bother. Original Shimano Mountain LX drivetrain, Shimano something-or-other wheels, replaced the broken thumb shifters with SRAM twist grips.

Here is my "new" Bianchi Nyala, it is a 1996 model. The frame is built from Tange DB tubing, and has the Bianchi "superlug" gussets on the head tube and seat tube. I know it's not a high end Bianchi, but it is a pretty nice frame, and the finished bike is sub 25 pounds.
I have it built up with a new Shimano Deore grouppo, and some Mavic rims laced to Cannondale Coda Expert sealed bearing hubs. I also used the new Kalloy Uno seat post, and I will recommend it to anyone who wants a nicer seatpost of a uncommon diameter nowadays. |

Picked up this 89 sm500 this morning. It was covered in dirt and dust but cleaned up well and appears to have very low mileage-even the tires are in new condition. Stripped it, waxed the frame and built it back up. New grips and chain and she'll be complete. A bit too small for me, this one is looking for a new home.

1993 Rockhopper Expert.
Bought if off of CL to make into a commuter. After cleaning and adding the SPDs and an old Flite saddle I had; the original saddle was way too cushy for my taste. http://i850.photobucket.com/albums/a...r/DSC00308.jpg Added a rack and slicks. http://i850.photobucket.com/albums/a...r/DSC00320.jpg And a bag. http://i850.photobucket.com/albums/a...r/DSC00312.jpg |
