The bike faerie dropped a frame, fork, and crank at my house the other day and I used some spare parts to build up The Beast to test ride it.

It is a '96 Jim Moulden (local builder / retired) custom built with 853 / Prestige, fillet brazed... will need fresh powder and decals and I will have to replace the rear brake bosses as one is damaged.

Rides beautifully and handles like it is in rails... slams the curb at 21 pounds as an SS.

Took my Rockhopper out for a spin Monday night before the deluge started, I figured it would be my last chance to ride in the dry for a few days:

Here is my hard tail Bianchi Forte. I am pretty sure it is mostly original. Not sure what year it is. I'll have to look up the component dates to sort that out.

Crazy paint on the Minelli HSean, cool score! I've seen a handful of Minellis around here that were brought down by wintering Quebecois, but I don't know much about them. Did they have many high-end models?

So many old mountain bikes die by winter riding lol, theres a few higher end models, just that they are currently hiding in sheds and other places, within the next few years they will come out, I have a nakumura with weird paint also heres a pic, oh right this is my other vintage mountain bike, I should take a close view of paint, it's neat

The one above is sweet, but has those terrible shifters that gum up and die left and right. I spend so much time at work fixing those shifters for people.

Have similar Nitto in black I might try out and decided to play with a 1 by 8 drive and upgraded my wheels after a failed theft attempt fragged my rear wheel the other night.

The cranks are some earlier Race Face SR carbon... came with the bike as well.

Have been using the bike for urban assaults and commuting through the valley... Jim knew what he was doing when he designed this bike as it rides and handles amazingly well.

The shifters suck and need replacing due to what the bikes being used for, winter riding! it now has fenders, rack and studded tires, just needs some bearing packing and new shifters, maybe a better freewheel.

Finally got the Scott Windriver on the road thanks to the generous gift of shifters and V-brakes from a friend. Still needs a few touches here and there but this is one sweet riding bike!

That is a stunner! (aside from the saddle and grips, but those are personal items and you gotta keep the little lady comfy.)

Looks like Kenda Kross Plus tires.

They are Kenda Kross tires.
The Boss will probably use this on pavement and good dirt roads for short distances. She likes to ride ...... but not too much, if you know what I mean.
I'm hoping a little time on this and she will get the bug.

Picked this up on Craigslist a few weeks ago. 1986 Bridgestone MB-3. The tires and saddle were the only non-original parts when I got it. Neat.

Heh, that's a Record crank I had laying around. The original cranks were 50-42-32. I'll take the two fewer teeth on the granny gear!

Diamond Back Sorrento - not sure of year, maybe 92? it's not very correct anymore, anyway

ChroMoly mains, fork

Salsa bars

picked it up cheap and cobbled it together with a donor on a recent trip - enjoyed it enough to build it up into a little yellow monster when I got home
