I had given up on Mtb-riding, at least the offroad side of it. Last year I built up a far too small Kilauea frame I had lying around. Because of the superlong toptube it fit OK and I just loved the way it handled singletrack. Now I have bought a modern hardtail and consider entering some races. Kona's rock !

My old Park Precision, circa 1990. Was a gift from teammate at the time, so don't know all the particulars. I believe the paint job is by John Slawta of Landshark. He was doing a lot of these fade & spatter paint combinations at the time.

MMMM Custom Kona's:
A bit newer than some of yours, this one has been my primary hardtail rider for about a decade. I recently took it all apart to clean and replace. Sitting as a bare frame on my workbenck right now. The frame is cleaning up nicer than I ever remember it looking. Need to rebuild the Z1 so it keeps the oil on the inside.

Wish I could say it was original, but don't think the Camo Blue was ever done on a Ritchey that early. D and D first did this frame for Tom in Forest Green. They got it back in 1990 and repainted it with the current Camo Blue scheme.

1988 Specialized Rockhopper Comp that I got off of craigslist for the low low price of $0.00 I am planning on cleaning it up and letting wify ride it around unless its worth selling. its really dirty but I don't really see too much if any real rust on it, most of that brown scratches off with a fingernail and the color is underneath. These photos are as I got it last night and I haven't touched it yet as far as cleaning or anything, I figure it will need new tires and tubes (it has the original tires on it) new cables and lots of cleaning and scrubbing and hopefully it comes out decent and I can't complain on the price.
Rear brakes are underneath and have a little gizmo that says Shark tooth on it that seems to keep the chain where it needs to be.
Front Brake
Front Derailluer
Rear Derailluer
Crank
Front Hub
This is the rear rim, both are marked GX28 along with this

1990 Klein Pinnacle
This thread made me pick this up. And, it was a bad week so I traded in my CV steel Daily Driver for this 1990 Pinnacle to cheer myself up. Mostly original-mission control bar/ stem, fork,Suntour xcd hubs and bits.
Nothing beats a new old bike.In spite of the Gumby green paint I am really enjoying it so far.
A few kids said they liked my bmx "cruiser.WT????

I don't care much for mountain bikes on the whole, but that Klein is wonderful.
Hey, could you folks help? I have a 1991 SM700 in excellent condition. What's the ball park street value?

My current works-in-progress can be found here, and I'd like some information on it and just a few nice words and some gawking, too. When it's done, I'll post it in this thread.

Thanks noglider.
Being car-free,it helps to hop a curb to dodge the local traffic on this so has come in handy.
Bano_mole : Cool bike, but I really really like that Sierra.Rode my Uncle's back in day.

It does look a little BMX cruiseresque. It would look even moreso like one if it was single speed.,,,,BD

1984 Schwinn Sierra
Found this in the thrift store about 6 weeks ago. It needed tires/tubes and a front brake cable to be rideable. I still haven't torn it apart, cleaned it, etc, but it rides very nicely. I've put about 500 miles on it so far.
4130 Chromoly main tubes.
