Oh yeah. That's the only way to get a frame that small to fit me. It's my wife's mountain bike the rest of the year.

I was going to start a new thread then decided to just post here. I finally finished, well almost, my '87 Bianchi Grizzly. as I was dragging out into the sun for a photo shoot I realized it needs cable caps. then as I was posing her I saw lots of wax still in the corners. OY are these projects ever finished?
I swapped out the 6spd Deore shifters for 7spd XT and changed the wheels. Campi ZARK rims laced to STX 'bronze' *I like to call them chocolate* hubs built by Stan at D&Q in Cherry Hill NJ
the original Celeste bars were cut really short and scrathed to ... well bad. I put these Scott AT2 wannabees on for now
the original seatpost was long gone too, and unfortunatly I had a bit of trouble figuring out exactly the right size. it appeared the tube got slightly bent at the clampe ears. a flex hone from Harbour helped clean things up.
she looks scrawny with the x1.25 Paselas but no one had x1.5s when I ordered them. I have another set of rims to build and put some 'fat' x1.75 tires on.

90's Hard Rock drewed to the max, my "shop bike", with 650A wheels and coaster brake, Fuji cranks, drewed also, old Raleigh stem and bars.

kinda handy looking bike. must be great for running out to Dunkers, but what is with all the little square cows stacked everywhere?

1997 Trek Mountain Track 800 Sport setup for winter
Setup as SS for summer (use nanoraptors instead in summer)
Setup as drop bar for a while.
I don't know how "vintage" this bike is but I love it, I've had it since new was my first bike.

I already posted this bike in here, but without fenders and rack. It's an 84 Ross Mt Rainier. I've only had it for a couple of weeks and about 100 miles, but it is a real solid piece.
Here is from the other day when I took my son out for a 10 mile ride. He was a real trooper, as it was only 38 degrees out that day. I have another set of wheels with road friendly tires mounted.

Thought I'd post a few pics here of my latest find, since there's so little info and practically no photos of them on the 'net....
A 90-92(?) Jazz Vertical rigid hardtail. A line of bikes from Trek. This one is 2nd from the top of their line. It's made from Tange MTB tubing (yellow label) and uses Shimano's Exage 300 LX group. Basically looks identical to a Trek 800 Antelope.
This is the original state and paint scheme. It's since been stripped down to the frame for possible repaint.

IIRC Jazzeses were an "economical" line from Trek yes? they were trying hard to get the $200 price point but need a foriegn made biek to do it.

Yup, it was their brand to break into big box discount chains. Wasn't sold at bike shops. It's sourced from Taiwan. But by that time, Trek had already started importing Taiwanese bikes as their own. The 800 series being one.

I've been wanting to restore a vintage mountain bike. I found these two for sale on Craigslist. I probably restore one and sell the other. These are the before pictures--I look forward to posting the after pictures.

1993 Schwinn High Timber SS
I picked this one up the other day. Cr-Mo frame, upgraded with Tange Prestige fork, Ti stem and bars, XTR crank and FD, SRAM RD and grip shifters, Paul levers, Mavic rims, plus some other good stuff. Weighs about 23-24 lbs. I have a suspension fork I could use, but I'll probably see how those big tires soften things up
first.

My Utility Beast...
Figured I'd add a true vintage ride to the others here... this is my '84 Sweetheart Cycles Motocruiser I picked up bare metal from the "guys" back in North Hollywood in '84. It's my utility ride now - fork, stem and bars (fenders) not original, everything else pretty much the way I raced her for the most part.

I got this 1984 Schwinn High Sierra a while back with the intention of making it a touring bike for my wife. Turns out that the top tube is too long, so it will remain a mountain bike and be sold off (once I clean it up).
