Finally finished the 1992 Paramount Series 70 MTB. Made by Panasonic, with a very interesting (but hard to photograph) dark purple paint. I really like the TBone stem I picked up for it, with a hidden cable routing. Nicely designed!
This makes four different 1992 series Paramounts, three built by Panasonic.
I need to dig out a black seat post, and a better saddle, and then I will call it done. OK, I might dig up a LX RD, rather than the newish XT I have on there right now. And I need to shop around for some dark blue caged bear trap pedals.
So I guess its not done....

It makes for reduced chainslap!
I didn't realize those were Panasonic frames. Around the same time Univega had frames with both chainstays dropped in a similar fashion. Wonder if those were Panasonic-built also...

Now that makes sense! I wonder why that design wasn't picked up by others. Schwinn MTBs had the one side bent stay for several years.
Somewhat odd, in years prior to 1992 (1991 and 1990 as a minimum), on the higher end Schwinn MTBs, both chain stays are curved. 1993 and 1994 were similar to 1992 design.

Those Arvons look cool and are new to me. Love small builders unique attention to detail.
A couple of my recent projects in the last phase of finishing up.

I'm not even going to ask how you found a set of Skinwall 26 inch Comp III treaded tires. What am I saying. Of course I am going to ask. How the heck did you find 26 inch skinwall Comp III's??, and is there still a source that has them?,,,,BD

Ha,
I looked for a long, long time. That Ritchey took me three years to find all the proper parts for and put together. Still a few little things not quite done. The tires came off of a CL bike that I bought just for the tires. They look nice for a photo shoot, but I will change them out for something a couple years newer before taking the bike out for a ride next week.

thanks! I've been putting it through it's paces both on and off-road since I got it. put the old rack on the back, swapped out the bars for some wider bullmoose bars, put a different saddle and longer seatpost on it and that's it.
I hate the tires, so those are next to go. otherwise, I really like this bike.

How about a vintage styled dual crown fork ?
This is probably one of the greatest pleasures of our work, being able to do things like this... it is suspension corrected and all ready for touring with low rider mounts and double eyelets and we built it up for a friend who is restoring a Specialized and setting it up for touring.
(It still needs a little final prep and powder coat)
Looking forward to seeing it after the powder goes on...

Finally took a pic of mine; it is a "Quantum" mountain bike, and that is simply all I know about it. Seemed like a decent bike in it's time, but it came to me in shambles. Actually looking for a set of drop bars and levers for it now, and possibly some derailleurs and some bar ends. That drop bar mountain bike thread is a bad influence.
Edit: just noticed, does the front fork on this thing look bent?

Something tells me it needs a new fork. Seems splayed out frontwards a bit.
