Turns out the Steve Potts the guy on the last page found was stolen (though not by the poster, who may have found it roadside, like he said here, or bought it at a yardsale, like he has said other places). The original owner contacted Steve Potts and Steve Potts talked to the guy and confirmed the serial number on the bike, which was stolen from the original owners wife a decade.5 ago. But he's got it on eBay and isn't budging, and it is unclear if the original owner can prove it was stolen (though he can prove it was his). ****ty situation.

GM123, that Ritchey kicks *ss!
Jim-Bob and Northbend, I'm still wiping off my drool from your bikes!!
1996 Stumpy and the RS Judy will be off it for an upgrade later next week.
I normally prefer a 18.5 to 19" for almost all of my riding but I find this nice little 18" to be great for highly technical singletrack/Mtn trail. By going 1 size smaller I can really whip it around

Finished the re-build on this one a few days ago. It was completely hammered when I got it. Patience, elbow grease, and a few bucks made it a sweet rider.

I know I've been posting this everywhere, but I love this bike. 91' MB-1 with 92' LX, XT and XTR hubs. Such a fun bike.

A friend just fixed up a Puch that has Bullmoose bars. I told him I wasn't the only person who liked them.
I need to take some pictures to post. I have a Bridgestone MB1, a Ritchey Ascent Comp (nice bike but I'm told not his best work) and I'll be this will be a new one a RekTek. I was told it was the first titanium mountain bike built in North America. I think it was made in Washington state but sold in Canada.

Trust me, there was nothing good to come out of that thread. Just more meltdown at VRC. I read it all, and what I could get from it is that the guy with the Potts wanted proof that it was stolen, and the other guy didn't have any. After that everyone started to s paz out a bit. I actually sided with the guy with the Potts, but that was based entirely on the info from the thread, not any first-hand knowledge of the situation. It's my opinion that they should have hashed it out between themselves first, then brought the bike forward, by having their exchange in public there was no room for either party to back down.
Plus a bunch of VRC forum regulars acting like jerks, which seems to be the specialty over there these days. Sad, really, 'cause I like old mountain bikes, but can't stand the negativity that permeates almost every thread there these days.
Sigh. We're so spoiled over here with our civility.

I recently bought the identical bike at a yard sale for fifty bucks. Except mine came with neon green handlebars, which I quickly changed out. Pretty sure the black with neon green color scheme was only available in '91.

Just finished my 88 High Sierra find enough to show off. Had to change the tires, saddle, and RD due to original but worn out components. It's looking much nicer now, and rides like only a Schwinn can. The tires are a lucky flea market find this morning. Conti Goliath semi slicks with brown sidewalls. Good enough for this bike, as the nearest mountain is a LONG way off, hehe.,,,,BD

Every time 2 or 3 of the Hollander's post a machine, my heart leaps.... This is one of the most stunning bikes I've ever seen. Just when I think there's no way you can top yourselves, you do....
Where the heck do you find these!!? Sheesh, you guys have some of the most eclectic/exotic suspensions too!!
I'm coming over there to ride w/ you some day!
