Harding Bicycles?

Anybody ever heard of such bikes? I'm looking to pick this one up after work. The seller told me it was custom made in L.A. He wants $75, but I was thinking of haggling the price down to $50 (good luck to me, I suck at haggling). Here's some pics for reference:

All I can find is references to a Charlie Harding bicycle shop.
I wonder if this is a shop branded bike.

C. Harding's Westwood Cyclery
Home of the 90 speed bicycle

Charlie had these built for him, I think as frames, then built them up at the shop. Not a happy fellow, he closed up in the late late 70's or early 80's and returned to Erie I have been told.

Frames were made in UK or Erie, I don't remember, not very many.

First Campagnolo Nuovo Record I saw at that shop...got me started on all this, but would not take a 12 year old seriously, so I took my savings to Hans Ohrt and bought a Bertin.

cool

I took in the new info and did a google search. I couldn't find much more, except a website that had some HR Morris bikes. I really want this crank: https://www.classicrendezvous.com/ima.../AT_blu_2L.jpg

Why?? Well, my last name happens to be Morris... Man, that'd be awesome. Imma look on ebay now :B

I own one My wife keeps it in her office at the Comm. College where she teaches and gets an occasional ride.

The finish was shot so I resprayed however the decals were intact enough to state that the frame came from Cork, Ireland. Mine (hers) is a full 531 bike and was kitted with Campy NR and Mavic clincher rims, originally black, now an (appropriate I believe) very green, green.

I replaced the 531 decals but not the Harding ones. With all of the info out there about dupe decal that may finally happen. Converted to clinchers and a Dura Ace front der. to replace the shot NR.

My research after purchase led me to Harding Bikes in LA as well. I believe John E. actually knew Harding. Apparently the bikes frames were purchased in Ireland by Charlie's brother.

Good solid 531 frame with the then standard, now "classic" road race geometry. You did good. My wife certainly loves her "Green Machine" even if a Colnago Master is her primary ride.
