[IMG]I am trying to figure out what model Colnago I have from what i assume is from the 1980's. In looking over the web it appears it is either a "Mexico" or a "Super". Not sure which. Is there a way to determine this by looking at the bike itself and the components or is it kind of an unanswerable question?

Yours looks to be in between these two in vintage, but probably a "Super".

I'd also say Super. Mexico was mostly the same Dims but used a special Columbus SL tubing set called 'record'. Not exactly sure what was, but supposed to be even 'lighter' than SL.
Based on the color - Saronni Red and the 'newer' sloping fork crown, I'd say '84-'85.
Without knowig the tubeset, anyone would be hard pressed to tell the difference between Supers and Mexicos from different times, if they were sans paint...
Ernesto and his 'Boys' had the 'formula' that worked for them, they'd just be bangin em out like loaves of bread and 'glaze' them a bit different, depending on which church holiday it was...
which I don't think was much different from any of the other Italian Masters

The difference in weight was considerable, though.

...Super tubeset weighing 2,065 grams (frame and fork listed at 5 lbs 15 oz) and the Mexico weighing 1,650 grams (frame and fork listed at 5 lbs 9 1/2 oz)...
