I just picked up these two today from a retired triathlete, and I need some advise. If I sell these, should I leave them as tri bikes or convert them back to road bikes. Are the aero bars worth anything? The trek 1500 is in fair shape but needs a repaint. It is an 86. It has Shimano 600 derailleurs, and Campy wheelsets. The Bianchi Brava is a 1990, and it has kind of a mixture of components. The paint and decals are pretty good. I paid $95.00 for the pair. Sorry about the spelling- Triathalon

fair number of begining triathletes want a bike without a big investment. I think you might get the most dollars by taping into that market. The bars on these bikes are pretty obsolete so I don't think they would have much of any value just as parts, and probably wouldn't cover your cost of getting regular road bars to put on the bikes.

Hey, that looks like the Brava I just got! Maybe mine's a 1990 then...I paid more than $95 though, and didn't get a Trek 1500 in the bargain.

I found this Bridgestone Grand Velo hanging from the ceiling at an estate sale. The person that had it must have been a fanatic as all the decals had been removed. I also thought about putting drop bars back on it but I started doing time trials on Saturdays and really enjoy doing that. I get a lot of respect from other roadies for even trying on an old bike like this.

Here's a not-that-beautiful shot of the Brava...

It keeps looking blue in photos, but I assure you it's eggplant purple as CrazyB's likely is.

Edit: Here's a better photo!

Sure looks the same as mine, right down to the green seat. I couldn't take the green with the purple, so I replaced mine.
