I had more black in double mode, but a triple is always handy to have around. Thanks to afilado for the frame.

NOT to be confused with my other build, a double. However, both have CF forks off of 58cm bikes, so I used spacers.
The double version is much nicer overall, and was sold locallya while ago.

Aware that this threat has been dormant for quite a while, I want to share my 5 cents...
That serial number could be indicating that your was a bike sold in Denmark - may be your colleague bought it from a Dane in Italy, stole it in Denmark ...or simply wanted to make it sound slightly more exotic....
According to a Danish law from 1942 every bike has to marked with a unique serial number. Since Centurion has been a very popular bike in Denmark since the late 1970'ies, it could speculated be that the Danish importer persuaded the frame manufacturer to strike the serial number into the frame before painting to avoid damaging the paint job by doing it after - pure speculation, but anyhow.

I have 2 Centurions - a 1982 Le Mans and a 1984 Pro Tour. Both have similar type of numbering starting with WAK

Danish Bike serial no has following struture: WXX 1234567890 Y
Meaning:

W = Imported bike
XX = Letter code indentifying manufacturer or importer (AK- Centurion, AR-Raleigh, KM-Motobecane ...many more)
1234567890 = Bike serial number
Y = Letter code indentifying year of production (see below)

Your bike is marked "V" meaning that it is a 1982 model.

Hey there. I just picked a up an old Centurion frame. The serial number is on the left side of the seat tube near the BB and reads IE01982. It has pretty 70's english-style lugging. Scanning this thread didn't provide any obvious answers, anyone have any idea about its origin?

I'll add my latest find, a 1987 LeMans RS. It was in pristine condition. I just polished and cleaned and lubed today, what a nice little bike!

There is a Centurion mixte, likely a LeMans, being sold (in parts) on eBay, ending tonight. Sorry I didn't think to post it here before but I imagine most Centurion hounds would be aware of it anyway. Here's the frame, pretty cheap with just a couple of hours to go:

I have swaped some wide Nitto Noodle bars, with Tektro brake levers and intermediate levers. I also put on some Wheels I had lying around. The wheels are Mavic MA40 with Mavic 501 hubs, and a suntour seven speed freewheel. The original wheels are Araya with MF-6207 freewheel (they are hanging in the garage waiting for me to decide what to do with them-- I might put them back on it--but I want a "tough wheel" for "training"). I put on an 8 speed chain I had, but it is too short so I need to get a new one.

I am still trying to decide what to do about tires. The 26c Kendas came with the wheels, but I also have 28c Serfas Seca's and some 25c gatorskins.

I am also still looking for a 39t chainring to help me get up the hills.

It is nice and scratched up, but also it does not look too bad from a distance. That is basically perfect for my purposes.

And thanks to Robbie for telling me to snag it when I got the chance. Other than maybe the siliver 85's this is my favorite of the Ironman paint schemes.

PS-- can someone tell me what the proper replacement brake pads are for those brakes. I know kool stop are suppose to be good, but I don't know which ones fit these brakes.

I just picked up an 86 Ironman Dave Scott yesterday. Shimano 600. Look pedals (probably not original?), Wolber wheels (not original), 105 shift levers (probably replaced the broken 600s), SIS and Biopace. 6-speed rear. Tange #1. Looks like investment cast fork.

I recently bought a Centurion to restore and I can't identify the model of the bike. Either the decal has come off or it was never labeled (unlikely, right?). The person I bought it from does not know what year it was purchased. The Serial No. is 6A243 (specs below). Any ideas?
