http://www.hetchins.org/raleigh1.htm Does it look anything like this? You definitely found a keeper. The serial number would suggest it was built at the Worksop plant in April 1977.

Something still seems weird. As far as I can see the Team models didn't have the half-chrome fork, and certainly wouldn't have had Record on the down tube. Do the dropouts (either the fork ends or rear drops) have fender/rack eyelets? Is the headtbue badge for The Raleigh with Nottingham England under it or Raleigh Cycles of America?

Edit
Ok, I might have found a pic of something similar:

Does it look like this:

There are "good" Team Records (which are essentially Raleigh Professionals with a team paint job and trim), and "bad" Team Records (which are essentially Raleigh Records with the same paint and trim). The Campagnolo dropouts is a clear indication that you have one of the "good" ones (lucky dog :p).

The one in the picture above is clearly one of the "bad" ones.

Attached is one of the "good" ones, although of a different year when they had black head tubes.

I think yours is a 1977 (from the first number in the serial number), the presence of the 'K' is a bit puzzling. Not sure what it means.

Hope you enjoy riding it.

The one pictured is (I believe) one of the Raleigh USA promotional bikes. Basically a Record with Team paint. The thing that throws me about the OP's bike is the Record decal on the DT combined with the half-chrome fork and Campy drops.

I'd heard speculation that the "good" ones were intended for Europe, and we in the colonies got the el-cheapo version. I know for certain that there were "good" ones, and that they are the same frame as the Professional.

Interesting... If you check out my a bit confusing post http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=207633 and tell me what you think about my case. By the way the serial number is NA1422735 (just found it today :) ). I'm sorry I don't have any pictures yet, but they are coming asap.
