It just ended, no sniping, for $3650.
Wow! |
Nice bike --but at $3600 wow, I have the same 1969 in a painted version, same size - don't get mad at me guys - I bought the whole bike 10 years for $400 - I turnaround and sold the parts accept the Campy headset and Brooks professional saddel for $400. I had it repainted and spread to 130 and now 10,000 miles later ride it with Campy ergo. Only problem I've every had with was the need for a drop bolt and long reach brakes. Yes like some I am a Waterford fan and own a rs22 and 1900

Nice bike, respected seller, great presentation, accurate description, some sought after parts, those brakes alone have fetched $1500. at auction, actually I was expecting this bike to hit $4k.
And if you had been following Paramount auctions the seller bought a drillium Paramount not too long ago for what was considered large dollars at the time. |

They'll probably come out of the woodwork now after that last one. http://cgi.ebay.com/Schwinn-Paramoun...QQcmdZViewItem |

They'll probably come out of the woodwork now after that last one. http://cgi.ebay.com/Schwinn-Paramoun...QQcmdZViewItem for one the $3600 bike had rare, sought after no logo campy brakes which as stated before easily sell for $1500. The seller (velostuff) is highly reputable, the buyer is a CR lister with a very impressive collection of bikes he wants and knows what it's worth. The bike was in fantastic condition, the auction showed it off very well and the size was very desirable. This new one is made for giants (at least from my closer to the earth perspective), has nice componentry but nothing near the $3600 one. And the auction will do nothing to help the sales (need more detailed pics). marty |
