Hello, Was wondering if any of you may shed some light on this bike.. bought it today, im guessing 30s-40s.
I dont know much about sunshine company, the head badge states the company was in Waterloo, ontario.
It took 28 1 1/2 wheels obliously, but they are gone, there were 26 inch thin wheels on it.
Someone painted it black, original color is maroon with white pinstripes which are pretty much on every tube.
The handlebars are very wide.
I cant find a serial number on it so far..
Here you can find some photos (in the directory they all begin with P
if anyone wants some more detailed photos of any part I can take some.
https://www.rollingscrapheap.com/temp
Thanks!
PS: anyone have any tips for getting the black paint off.. it flakes off fairly easy in some areas, would polystripper or something work?

Well here is my extreme amature rat "resto" job.. not bad for a day. the poly stripper got the black paint off descently enough (and the original paint in a lot of areas), But I love it! Cant wait to give er a whirl tomorrow.. love those super wide handlebars I even put an old bicycle bell on em. Its heavy as anything, so people better stay out of my way..
PS: I also located a serial number after removing the paint on the seat post tube at the top on the non-drive side.

My bikes became Vintage
Great pictures, divineAndbright. About 20 years ago a buddy of mine at work would ride a vintage CCM to work on occasion. He left it between the doors at the employees' entrance when he was on night shift. Seems like some kids stole it. They probably never even realized it wasn't just some POS from Canadian Tire.

I decided to take it out for a quick ride.. its pretty much what I expected; torture to ride it, mainly due to the wide handle bars (makes going fast and climbing hills kinda hard). Makes my 60s CCM cruisers feel like cake walks, but I still love it, and will ride it regularly.
Now I await a couple of ballooners to refurbish and I'll be set for life (awaiting a early 40s rollfast from toronto to arrive).. and got an unknown bent/rusty double top tube frame (slightly visible in above photo).

Wow, great collection, total envy! I really love that double top tube one with the basket, and the marroon one with the black chainguard is really sweet too. I recognize the 1918 now, you made a thread about it awhile back, you say you picked it up at landfill right? That is so awesome, is that where you got the rest of them?
