I found a Schwinn Continental at Goodwill yesterday. I've been looking for a commuter and this should work out fine. I put on new tubes/tires (cost twice as much as the bike!) and a new chain. I spent today cleaning it up and was able to ride it around the block. I was amazed at how well it shifted and how quiet the thing is.

I'm wondering what year this thing is. It looks much like the nice one that Norm55 posted earlier. The decals are missing but I can make out 'Continental II' on the top tube. It has chrome forks with decals on them. The design on the decals looks somewhat similar to the painted design on other Schwinn forks I've seen. The serial number is KN572461

Thanks for any info.
