newbie questions, 3 bikes.
A newbie here with three questions
(now... sorry if they make me sound like a numbskull but hey i'm a newbie)
1) What is your take on a 1980's KHS winner? Any good?
2) What is your opinion of a 1980's windsor (sorry, don't know the specific model)? Any good?
3) Would it be unwise to purchase a bike with no identifying emblem or decals that the seller (at an used bike store who has been selling bikes for over 30 years) claims to be sure is a schwinn le tour?
Thanks to anyone who can help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Assuming the winsdor is from before the brand name got sold off as scrap metal (I think this was in the 90's), that would be the best among the three. I'm assuming you're choosing among these bikes.
PM me if nobody gets back to you about the LeTour, I don't know them by heart like some might but I can look over one tomorrow and tell you what the distinguishing characteristics of the frame would be.

Look for tubing stickers on the Windsor. Some of the ones I've seen have been pretty nice, most if not all of them are Mexican made, and some are Cinelli knock offs. Also check for the componentry; they pretty much run the gamut.
KHS is too new for me to know squat about, as they haven't ctarted filtering into thrift stores just yet.
Le Tours are pretty common, and there is a good deal of variation in the models. I had a NOS Le Tour Luxe a while back, double butted chro-moly frame, and it was pretty nice, but I sold it to buy some silly French thing...
