Sort of a saddle bag question

I have one of those wonderful HUGE english style canvas saddle bags, leather straps and brass hardware, etc.

I have had it for umpteen years and used to use it all the time, not so much any more but I would like to.

I used to have a really neat little "rack" sort of thingie that hooked around the seat stays in two locations and just provided a support for the bag so it didn't droop into the brake cables.

It didn't fasten on with hardware, just hooked around the stays so you could put it on and take it off at will.

Bad description, I know.

Somewhere in the many moves over the years that wonderful little rack seems to have vanished.

Anyone know of any slick supports for big saddle bags???

Not exactly what you describe, but these may do the job. https://www.wallbike.com/racks/bagman.html

I think Rivendale has something like that, since they also sell the large canvas bags. I think theirs is bolted on.

there are many saddlebag supports available

the specific rack you are talking about was manufactured by park but they don't make them anymore
as luck would have it, rivendell just recently started producing a copy of it

they're not in the online catalogue yet but they are in the print version
they call it their 'silver hupe' and it's 30 dollars

they also sell various bolt on versions

Thank you.

I love that about this place. Even with a poor description like I gave there is someone who not only reembers the thing but even who made it.

Thanks for the Riv tip, I will call them today.
