Nishiki Info

I have had a Nishiki Team Issue for quite sometime and I've never been able to find out anything about it.
I bought the frameset with Mavic HS and BB along with a Ross Paragon complete bike from a fellow in Potsdam NY Ted Prahl. The Nishiki was a light blue to dark blue fade. It's built with Tange Prestige has chrome front and rear faces and a right CS section too. I liked it so much I had Fresh Frame do a respray and decals (not OEM). It did say "handbuilt in Japan by either Kuwahara or Kuwamara?? I forget now and FF couldn't save that decal.
I'm supposed to be too heavy for Prestige but that was my favorite and main ride for quite a few years.
The Ross BTW is a nice ride also but the BB height is more of Crit frame style. Tange Prestige IMHO what a wonderful tube set.

Still curious after all these years about the history of this frame.

Regards
Jim Smith

Very nice find! Kawamura built Nishiki and several other brands of Japanese frames, and Tange Prestige (or better yet, Prestige II, as on my mountain bike) is well-regarded tubing.

Thanks John. I guess my search will go on as to the bikes history though. Guess nobody has heard of it.

If you're still on this forum, I just bought a frame that sounds exactly like yours. It's awesome, can't wait to build it up!
