I have a '72 Grand Prix--bought it for $50. This seems ridiculous:

A sidenote: anyone know anything about 80s Specialized road frames?:
https://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/bik/176586376.html
Seems a bit steep for the price, no?

$950 and it needs new tires?
Please contact that person and find out what medication they're on. I want some. Thanks.

I have a one owner, 72 Record, all original except for the seat, tires and tape. I'll settle for half that since it's only a Record. But, it has new tires so maybe I should ask $500?

LMFAO! That '71 GP frameset MHendricks gave me must be worth at least $500 then.
That guy's a maroon; it's not even a '72.

Heh heh.
I really want to find out if he actually ends up selling it. If so, then we have to give him credit for his ballsy salesmanship.

Update: looks like I wasn't the only one boggled by his post. He's now renamed it: I've never heard of a "Raleigh Super." Does he mean "Super Course"?

Maybe he means Super Grand Prix, who knows?. I get a bad feeling buying a bike from a guy who seems so unacquianted with it.

Can I have my frame back then! I still have the wheels, maybe they're worth a couple of hundred.

I swear from the picture it looks like a one-piece Ashtabula crank! Hey, that's rare on a "Raleigh Super," and probably worth thousands of clams.

You know what? I emailed this idiot, just before the ad revision, with some completed Grand Prix auctions from eBay pointing out that his price was completely out of range. No response.
I bet the creep re-worded the ad as a "Raleigh Super" as to try and mask that it's a Grand Prix.
Spam him!

"Yea, I have a bike"
"What type?"
"Road bike"
"Drop bars?"
"Pardon?"
"Dropped handlebars - racing type, 10 speed."
"No, they're straight"
"Flat?"
"Yea."
"What about the tires?"
"They have knobs on them..."

If your talking low end as in Magna, Huffy etc.,.... I feel your pain.

Well for instance, one fellow had an older Univega mountain bike. Probably similar to a Trek 800 but of course much better than your average Huffy or Murray. Certainly not a bad bike, but I can find mountain bikes all day long. Road bikes are a bit harder.
