I were puma track shoes no tingling in the feet on those long rides and nice and comfy. I have a pair cidi's but I find them to stiff.

I bought a pair of these a few months ago. They are made for clip style pedals & you can remove the cleats if you want a smooth sole. Price is right & they are comfortable. You could e-mail seller to see if they have any left in your size. Seller has lots of NOS Campy parts also. go to http://cgi.ebay.com/Euroasia-Leather...QQcmdZViewItem Don

I kind of let this frop but anyhoo- stiff soles. It's not a matter of overthinking anything, I like to bike with stiff soled shoes because they're much more comfortable than tennis shoes. And no, actually stiff soles were not invented to support cleats, bike shoes before cleats had stiff soles.

Anyway, I tried the mt-20s and although I need to try them in my size and not a half size bigger, I'm not sold. There was another model at this place, mt-34 or something like that, and they were a lot cooler. They had a slimmer profile, better tread, and the toe didn't have the big rubber bumper that just adds height. But it was a discontinued model apparently.

For what it's worth, I tried out some walking shoes from Walmart, their $9.95 a pair ones and they have a decent amount of support, a fairly stiff sole, and good breathability! The only thing I really don't like is that they are velcro closure and when walking in them, they wear out fairly quickly, but WTH, for $9.95 a pair, I can afford to buy a lot of pairs! I use clips and straps out of choice, I just got used to them when I was a kid and these have done pretty well for me. The issue of sore spots on the bottom of the foot from platform pressure have gone away, and so far, I've maxed out at 126 miles in a day using them and no arch pain either after the ride. I also don't look like a penguin with a loaded diaper when I walk in them!http://www.gifking.de/gif/pin/9.gif
