Help with new old bike

Got a bike given to me. It says Sears Freespirit Aero 12 sp. It has a Shimano CELC digital computer system integrated into the top of the stem. The center and front tubes are oval, almost flat and but round at each end (probably how they got the name aero). The wheels have a dimpled surface and makes an unusual swoosh sound when braking. It seems to be of reasonably good quality which surprised me because of the Sears tag. I would guess it's late 70s early 80s but the built-in computer system threw me, in fact I was not going to accept the bike until I saw that. It is in very good condition and been stored indoors.
Anyone heard of the Aero and Does anyone know what material the frame is made of and who made it, there are no markings? It is fairly lightweight and when I tap on the frame it does not sound like steel.

I don't know much about Sears and it would be hard to tell without seeing pictures. However, I have seen oval tubing frames listed as aero that were manufactured in the early 80's . These were made when it was state of the art. The six speed freewheel makes me guess that your bike would be mid 80's or maybe even later. Six speed was state of the art in the late 70's and early 80's. I don't think something with Sears on it would be state of the art so it would probably lag state of the art in time by a few years. It would be easier to guess If one could see the componentry.
