It will help enormously to see pics. But, without those, my guess is it's a Galaxy model because that's what was most common here in the US. Sort of equivalent to the Raleigh Grand Prix, and without pics and decals, I'd guess it's not 531 nor 501 tubing...especially when fitted with a Huret Alvit RD. But, I've been wrong before! I think that the most desirable item you have listed is the GB "map of England" handlebars, these are actually highly sought-after by restorers. Post pics, and the real experts can chime in.

My Dawes Galaxy was Reynolds 531. I bought it new in 1971. I only had it a week before it was stolen. I would not say that it's comparable to a Raleigh Grand Prix. I'm pretty sure that the rear derailer was a Huret Jubilee.

I am not very good with pictures but i will post what i can soon.
From what i have read and researched it could be late 60's early 70's but that is just an uneducated guess based on a comparison of pictures found on the net thanks again |

I bought a Galaxy new in '70 or '71 at Turin Cyclery on N. Clark in chi
Mine was nicked about a year later (I was a soph in H.S.... I was crushed) My dad bought the same bike at the same time, and at 85 he is too old to ride, so he gave it to me. I've converted it to a fixed gear. Two tone green and copper, chrome all over the front and back stays. Most of the components that you describe fit the Galaxy of that era. GB stem and bars, the 3 bolt crank The original Galaxy had the Delrin Simplex (plastic) derailleurs. Likely it may have busted and been replaced. Saddle was a Brooks B5N (lovely, slimmer than a B.17... I still have it). Nicely lugged frame, Reynolds 531, tho it was a bout medium weight. As a 10 speed it got me over one long tour. As a town bike, it is so so after all these years. It makes a nice single speed... consider doing a single and ride it to the cafe. Post a pic! I'll see if I can post a pic of mine in the next day or so |

Finally finished the rebuild of this Dawes-sorry for the crap pics
hope this helps identify it No before pics though |
nice bike
pretty TALL (smiles) did u repaint? It is not what I recall of the Dawes paint design also, it has shift levers on the stem which is not like the one's I saw in the early 70's, which had them on the down tube |
