Ok, finally got around to taking a pic of this Jeunet I built up for a friend. I found the frame on one of my neighbor's curb, put out for trash pickup. Paint is in rough shape but with the additon of a Campagnolo triple crank, Huret Duopar derailleur, and other parts-bin parts, it makes for a pretty nice all-arounder. I threw on a Tange 'cross fork so she could put some knobbies on it and do a little off roading too. Sorry for the so-so pic, it was taken with the camera on my cell phone.

I found a Centurion this morning at Goodwill for $25, except for tires its like showroom. The plan is to flip it this spring, but I know once my 12 year old daughter sees it it will be a member of the family. She has caught the bike collection bug somewhere.....

Nice little mixte there. Give it to your daughter, she'll love it!

Viva La France!
Here's a link to one of my Mixte's that I picked up, cleaned up, and now headed to a campus lady near me. Enjoy.
Oh by the way, did I mention that I picked it up in Mswantak's neck of the woods. Sorry Mike!

Fine with me; I've still got that '69 Pug mixte sitting on the back porch waiting for parts. One French bike project at a time.

A fellow bike nut, Richard Booth, fixed up 3 nice mixtes for his wife and a couple of friends. He got rid of the "train wreck" shifting syslems and installed proper Sturmey Archer hubs. The one called "Arm in Arm" is particularly nice.

I like that arm and arm mixte. Never seen that make before. The 531 Moto is sweet!

Here's another Pug mixte that I found and cleaned up for a girl at Berkeley. Really liked this one because of the generator light and moustache bars.

AFAIK they are no longer in production, but you might still find a pair at a Trek dealer. They've been replaced by the silly looking Satellite Plus.

Sterling Mixte
I have a Sterling Sportlite Mixte. It is probably a mid '80 vintage and is in pretty good shape. I've found it difficult to get information on this brand of bikes. It looks nice in black and silver!!

Here's the Peugeot UO18 that I just finished rebuilding. Started out at 33lbs-4oz, and now weighs 25lbs-10oz as you see it with Campy record wheels and sew-ups. Kinda like putting lipstick on a pig...or pug.

Those aren't the wheels I run on the Mixte. The Normandy hub, 700c alloy clinchers bring the weight of the bike up to 26lbs, 13oz. Still pretty good for an old Peugeot.
