Mrs non-fixie's L'Eroica steed for this year, an American market Mercier (the European versions didn't have those nice chromed forks). I upgraded as much as I could while trying to preserve that lovely French sixties vibe.

Thank you. Apart from a few (storage?) scratches the bike was pretty much mint when I got it. Here's the story. I don't think the bike will ever be ridden the distance it has sailed.

I am almost finished with a single speed of same Super Record for our daughter with a new wheelset.
And a Gran Sport with an Automatix 2 speed rear hub.

Classica
Hey! I just got my hands on my first Bianchi. The only definite thing I can say is that it’s a mixte made in Japan. Research shows it may be an ‘89. It says “Classica” on it and I cannot find any info on that! I’d love to find what it was like originally.

1977 CCM Targa 10
After years of sitting outdoors and more years in my care waiting to be revived, the blue CCM is ready to go with replacement parts of the same era. Only the frame and stem were salvaged from the original Shimano double cable Positron shifted machine. It also came with heavy steel center pull brakes. I wont even speak of the hours I have in this one!

One of my mixtes
Here is mine ... not a great photo but I love this bike a lot. It's a Nishiki Sport, I think an '84. Obviously we've made some changes -- it had drop bars and stem shifters, and it was made for a woman about a foot shorter than I am. Right now it's my daily commuter and my grocery-getter, but my husband thinks I am going to need to swap out the rear wheel for something stronger if I keep carrying beer in those rear baskets. (He doesn't want me to stop carrying beer so I think he's either going to buy or build me a wheel.)

A conversion I did on my brothers behalf after he accidentally sold the bike his wife thought of as hers in a garage sale! Bike nerd bro to the rescue. And yes I know its not a classic split tube but I consider it a mixte anyway

24" Nishiki Custom Sport rebuild
Saved from the dumpster. 1977 24" wheel Nishiki Custom Sport with very rusty components, obsolete 24 x 1 3/8" tire size and an odd mix of a standard crank with a Positron derailleur.
Rebuilt as a single speed coaster brake with 24 x 1.75 aluminum rims, new Vee Rubber Speedster 24" bmx race tires, flat bars and plastic pedals. A nice simple bike.
Weighs 24 pounds with many steel parts on it: steel bars, stem, crank, seat post. It could be lighter still with more aluminum bits. Will be used by a visiting left coast niece this summer then sold off.

Anyone happen to know if "most" of the mixte with 24" rims are also the small 16-3/4" ~49cm frames? That's a small Miyata frame I've located the specifications on looking for a frame for my, uh, claims to be 5' , partner.

Miss Peugeot Mixte
Hi, i just bought this original mixte from an old lady who bought it in switzerland. Does anybody have any idea about this one? i cannot find any info about it.

I have not seen a Miss Peugeot before but the little plastic lion is '80s vintage (I have a handful of them loose in black/silver), as is the cotterless crankset on a bike of this type, but the Positron is '70s leftover stuff. Very quaint little bike and totally cool for the right rider. I think they abandoned the Berseau/mixte frame by the mid-'80s in favor of the double-downtube (conventional stepthrough) frame, so this might be a cusp-of-the-decade bike.

Mountain Mixte
Just finished this 1988 Canadian built Raleigh Portage rebuild for a new owner. The mixte style frame looks good on a vintage MTB. Avid Single digit 3 linear pull brakes have replaced the original cantis. The 5 speed SIS still works like a charm. Hopefully the new owner will enjoy her repurposed rail-trail Raleigh.

I'm just gonna leave this here...
My wife and some friends from the gym signed up for a popular women's triathlon in September, so I've basically been appointed team mechanic. It's only a 10-mile ride, and they've been sort of going to yard sales and digging out old rides out of the garage. This is the first one I've completed. 83-ish (I think) Sportour. I don't think this bike was ridden more than a few miles since new. Everything was all-original, and just immaculate--no grime behind the brake calipers, bottom bracket was spotless, front derailleur. Just dust on greased surfaces, that's it. Of course the original Univega tires (!) didn't age well, and this bike was the perfect example of repacking all bearings--the grease was super clean but hard and clumpy. Still, a little gentle scrubbing here and there, new tires, cables and wires (the original Dia-Compe cable housing was in great shape, but just peace of mind), chain and bar tape, and boy is it a smooth ride. It's light, and that old Shimano 600 shifts awesome. The only issue was I had a hell of a time getting the Nashbar tires seated on the Araya 27x1 rims.
I've never come across a mixte this well-appointed, but that's what I love about Univegas. Great value, well-thought-out components. It even has an early Shimano freehub, the one that you need two chain whips for. It sounds great though, so I just dripped a little gear oil in there when I had the axle apart and it's good to go.
