Rear Brake Cable Routing: Help!

Hi all I am wondering about the rear brake cable routing for a 1973 Schwinn World Voyageur. I purchased a set of Shimano dual pivot calipers to replace the worn dia compe ceter pulls and now have a question. The bike has braze on cable guides on the drive side of the bike for the rear brake. The new brake has its cable entry on the non-drive side. With the dia compe's cable routing was not a problem. With the new brakes the cable looks like it might not be the most "elegant" bend to engage the caliper. Should I just use top tube clamps instead or is there away to make this work?

In the 70's I built a beater with dual rear brakes, one in the traditional configuration, and one reversed on a single front pivot bolt... I did it to help with the chrome rims in wet weather.

Other than looking "unique", I wouldn't think it would be a major issue to reverse the caliper to the forward side of the brake bridge if it helps the cable routing.

Otherwise, I would do the following (if it were my issue)

1) deal with the routing (if it doesn't inhibit functionality)

2) use clips
