Ever seen a Van Hout?

It's belgian, so I should know the brand, but I must admit I don't. Equipped with suntour SVX 12 speed, apparently. But where have I seen those lugs before?

San Rensho?

Doesn't look like the lugwork on MY 3Rensho, but it is reminiscent of some Japanese lugs...more like Nishiki or perhaps a JP Lotus. Don't know the Van Hout brand either, looks nice...is it actually MADE in Belgium, or just covered with the flag?

roadbikes for local amateur racers. Of course, it's impossible to tell from the photo's what kind of tubing he used... he may have just bought cheap asian frames and put a few decals on them, of course! BTW anyone know how to make dull paint like that shiny again? |
Very common for Belgian shops to outsource frames for
house brand bikes, look at Plum Vanquier for example. I would imagine that the frames were contract built by a factory such as Bilato in Italy, can't be sure from the photos what tubing, lugs etc were used. you might try automotive polishing compound to brighten up the paint but try it on an inconspicuous area first. marty |
