Please use this thread to post ebay finds, or craigslist
finds. I am beginning to see alot of posts that just point to
an auction, in an effort to reign things in this thread was
started as a collection point.
Any threads with ebay links or craigslist links posted after
this will be merged into this thread.

I was lying low for this mid-80's Scapin, all Dura-Ace (in my size, too! ... 62cm) but with a day left, it looks like it's been discovered. Guesses as to eventual winning price?

This seems like a good deal - I called him and he's 5' 4" so it's a smaller bike but maybe someone here could use it:

With a write up by Sheldon Brown:

hairlessbill 09-19-06 02:16 PM

I can't buy it but if want a Peugeot:

I don't know what it is about white but it reminds me of all the ghost bikes I see in the city. Not sure if I'd want to be riding around on it. But it can be painted :D

Maybe one of you SoCal BFers should pick up this lot:

From 54 bikes, you'd think you'd be able to salvage one or two!

450$USD is my guess, a good deal even if it reaches 500$USD as a bigger size biked in that good condition doesn't pop up too often.

jet sanchEz 09-20-06 10:21 AM

What do you guys think of this auction? There was a similar Bertoni in pink that ended a few days ago at 268$USD but with much lower-end parts. This one looks well cared for but the 400$USD BIN seems a bit much to me, any opinions?

I'm not a C&V type, but I noticed this on our local craigslist.

http://stlouis.craigslist.org/bik/210173820.html

I thought it might interest someone

jet sanchEz 09-21-06 11:17 AM

Hrm, I think this is a good deal but I cannot recall what the brakes are like from this generation of the 600 series. I think I'll email the seller anyways, 75$ is a good deal, I think.

cuda2k 09-21-06 02:04 PM

Its borderline if this is C&V, but I spotted an 89 Trek 5000 at my LBS today. Made by Graphite Technolgies for Trek for this one and only one year. Same frame as ViperZ's:

This one has all of it's original Dura-Ace equipment, looked like a 58cm, Shimano front wheel, Specialized carbon Tri-Spoke in the rear. contact Richardson Bikemart if interested.

Here's another one of those (now 99%) surely heavy, lousy bikes ... (the shifters are mentioned twice in the ad to bring attention to this). ;)

I'd ride it if it were my size. . .

Hey fender1, here's to you!

http://www.liquidsolutions.biz/produ...prima-pils.gif

It's a 1988 RB-2. It's not in great condition, but I was able to talk him down on the price. Mostly it needs tuning, but I also think a crank thread has been stripped out. No matter, I plan to swap out most parts anyway. The paint is a little tired though, and the previous owner to this seller did an awful touch-up with what looks to be a pinkish color.

Vintage truing stand for vintage bikes

At $25 I'd grab this in a minute if my shop wasn't already so crowded.

This guy had several bicycles, I bought two from him for a reasonable $45 (for both), a columbia 5 speed, and a Raleigh Sports 3 speed. He had a sears three speed (american made - probably Huffy, looked very nice but it was dark out so I couldn't really tell) a Triumph 3 speed, a very old children's raleigh, some French 10 speed (way too tall for me, simplex deraileurs not a top of the line bike) and some others, they were all in his back yard and all in need of at least some sort of work, but he was asking $25 obo, so if you're in washington you might score some decent vintage parts bikes (sorry guys, I took the two best bikes:D ).

Bob

That one looked enticing to me (and I'm an hour or so from the seller) and a very reasonable price for a custom frame, but that's the rub: It was designed for someone else's dimensions, not mine. Sure it might be a reasonable fit, but if I wanted to get a custom frame, shouldn't I go whole hog (and of course pay 3 or 4 times as much)? Is that crazy?

Congarats! my wife thanks you for helping beat my addiction!. Really, though I am glad you got it! He still had it listed yesterday morning. I figured if it was still there by Sat. I might give it a shot. Now I just have to move the 1977 le Tour 12.2, 1981 Trek 710, 1983 Fuji touring seireis IV, 1987 Trek 560 PRo series and assorted parts Bottechia Frame and Puegeot mixte frame, to get down to my promised 3 bikes total! Serenity Now!

How about a brand new mid 1970's Gitane with 531?

Cool. Current bid is $51. I'd pay 50 just for that ultrasweet Reynolds 531 decal in French.

I don't think it is overpriced. If it's a sweet frame that dura-ace stuff is damn nice. I have those brakes and love them. good rims too. that dura ace stuff is late 80's and should be 8 speed but I am sure it works fine in friction on what I imagine are older freewheel style hubs. The matching hubs would be (correct me if I am wrong) 8 speed uniglide freehub. it's a columbus frame, pantoed stem is nice touch. I don't see the BIN but it still under 200 with no reserve. Probabily will go for under 400 due to sucky pics and description.

jet sanchEz 09-24-06 03:58 PM

What do you guys think of this? Frame looks like it might be in rough shape, especially around the drive-side rear stay. Could be a nice restoration project.
